The difference between mortgaging and remortgaging is simply, that if you are remortgaging it means you already have a mortgage on your property, and by remortgaging you are replacing the existing mortgage with a new one.
There can be a whole host of reasons why you decide to go down this route. The mortgage market is very competitive, and you may have spotted a lower rate of interest that can reduce your monthly payments, or you may be borrowing more than your present mortgage to pay for home improvements or a family holiday.
PRELIMINARIES
CALL THE ALS TEAM FREE ON 0800 1218330, and we will recommend a specialist Solicitor to act on your behalf. We will liaise with your Solicitor, ensure they write to your present lender, ask them for a mortgage redemption statement and the title deeds for your property.
At the same time, we will liaise with your Solicitor to ensure a speedy return of your Local Authority Search and any other necessary searches.
During this time, you should have made an application for a new mortgage.
MORTGAGE OFFER
Once your new mortgage application has been finalised, a mortgage offer will be issued. By this time they should have your Title Deeds and searches. Where your lender allows, we will provide your Solicitor with insurance for your Local Authority Search to allow early completion. We will also check whether or not there are any Life Policies with the deeds.
APPOINTMENTS
If you have deeds or documents that need signing and witnessing outside of normal office hours, then we will make alternative arrangements.
COMPLETION DAY
They will ensure that your monies are forwarded to you on the day you complete.
POST COMPLETION
We will liaise with you to ensure our service met the standard you expected.
